Riding in air-conditioned, 4 x 4 van, travel former cane roads to areas of incredible beauty that have been off limits to all but cane workers for years. Learn about the history of Kauai as you meander along the scenic back roads past reservoirs and fields that now grow a wide variety of crops, all the way up to Kilohana Crater. From the top of the crater you will have a breathtaking 360 degree panorama. We will take you through Old Koba Town, Hawaii's first plantation settlement, past the old mill and to the rugged coastline of Maha'ulepu. Then, one of the highlights of the tour, we take the tunnel through the mountain back to Lihue, Enjoy a delicious, deli-style picnic lunch (On Sat & Sun. lunch may be served at a restaurant due to crowded picnic areas).
